Importing Geometry

  • Formats:
    • IGES, DXF, VDA, PARASOLID, ACIS, Shapefile, Rhinoceros.
    • Batch files.
    • From mesh: NASTRAN, STL, VRML, 3D Studio, GiD mesh.
  • Problems that GiD solves:
    • Tolerance.
    • Entities conversion y topologic reconstruction.
    • Gaps.
    • Needs of correction filters

Exporting

  • Geometry:
    • IGES
    • ACIS
    • DXF
  • Mesh:
    • GiD format
    • NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus (.bas)
    • User defined mesh output (STL, VRML, DXF, UNV, POV-Ray etc.)

Calculating with a remote server

  • You can extend GiD capabilities using ProcServer.
  • ProcServer sends the the mesh created by GiD to a remote server, which calculates the results.
  • ProcServer is totally integrated within GiD.
