Driving Conditions

The PAB-4010 bender has three electrodes: A, G and B. There are two basic driving conditions that can be considered depending on the actuation needs

SINGLE-SIDE VOLTAGE CONTROL: BENDING TOWARD ONE SIDE ONLY

If a POSITIVE voltage is applied between A and G=Ground electrodes (Vin <100V), with the electrode B connected to G=Ground, the bender will deflect in one direction.

Similarly, if a NEGATIVE voltage is applied between B and G=Ground electrodes (Vin>-150V), with the electrode A connected to G=Ground, the bender will deflect toward the opposite direction. See below Figure.

PAB-4010-Operation1

Please do not reverse the voltage when you drive the PAB-4010.

Electrode A should be connected to POSITIVE voltage (<100V)

Electrode B should be connected to NEGATIVE voltage (>-100V)

G is the Ground Electrode

DIFFERENTIAL VOLTAGE CONTROL: BENDING CAN BE CONTROLLED UPWARDS AND DOWNWARDS SIMULTANEOUSLY

This type of driving control requires a dual power supply to provide differential voltage to electrodes A and B. Then, the voltage in electrode G can be varied to obtain upwards and downwards bending. See below Figure.

Typical Performance

Please do not reverse the voltage when you drive the PAB-4010
